University Education Center

Center for Regional Collaboration in Research

The University Education Center is an educational research organization designed to improve the curriculum of general education and teaching activities at Iwate University. It also handles student affairs from admission to job placement. The Center is composed of six sections ; Admissions, Planning and Implementation of General Education, Evaluation and Improvement of Teaching, Liaison and Coordination of Undergraduate Programs, Student Support, and Job Placement. Each section works in cooperation with related committees set up by each faculty.

In addition to contributing to the progress in educational research, the center shares its intellectual property with the local community and local businesses. We aim to establish a cycle of intellectual creativity through contributing to local residents’ pursuit of life-long education and community projects. In May of 2004, the Regional Collaboration and Research Center, the Life-long Education Center and the Center of Instrumental Analysis merged to form the current center. In addition to the merger, incubation facilities and a new section for intellectual property as well as a section for regional and legal affairs support were added and the center has since been active as a unifier of the university and local community.
