Policies Related to the Intellectual Property of Iwate University
Iwate University’s doctrine is to contribute to the improvement of the local community and to the development of an international society based on the result of education and research.
In these policies, we will stress how to protect and utilize intellectual property, the results of research and development that we must always value and consider. Aiming at local development, we will arrange the system to work in cooperation with the local industrial sector, local governments, and various groups in the region. The goal of our mission is to restore to society the “intellectual property”※ of Iwate University.
※ "Intellectual property" means the intellectual creation that has value as property invented and created as a result of the wisdom, skills, and efforts by the personnel and educators of Iwate University. This will basically include scientific discoveries, theories, ideas, concepts, machinery, apparatuses, materials, substances, programs, databases, books, know-how, trade secrets, character, logos, and designs that are defined as intellectual property set forth in the related bylaws of Iwate University and trademarks to which Iwate University holds the rights.
