Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences

Faculty of Education (Japanese)

Because the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences seeks a balance between specialized and general studies, and so it promotes integrated research and education in the fields of humanities, and art and culture, in cooperation with the natural science division. We aim to educate human beings to be able to see various issues from a comprehensive perspective and to gain specialized knowledge and abilities in the humanities, culture, society, or the environment. Through their use of these skills, they will be able to contribute to local and international communities.

The Faculty of Education trains future elementary and junior high school teachers, as well as teachers for special-needs education. We work closely with our affiliated schools, the Clinical Research Center for Child Development and Educational Practices, and the Graduate School of Education (Professional School for Teaching Education), in order to provide these prospective teachers with a high degree of motivation and specialized skills.

Faculty of Science and Engineering

Faculty of Agriculture

The Faculty of Science and Engineering seeks to unravel the laws of nature and encourages technological innovation by actively encouraging basic and applied research in the area of science and technology. We promote the development of professionals who exhibit integrity and specialized knowledge in engineering, science, and related fields and who have the ability to act on the international stage. We highly value the cooperation of our scholars and students involved in relevant education and research activities with local society, and we intend to contribute towards the development of local and international communities.

The Faculty of Agriculture seeks to investigate and systematize scientific technology in order to produce bio-resources, including foodstuffs, in cold regions. To achieve these goals, we study life processes at various levels, from molecules to individuals to community, and we attempt to identify the functions of those molecules and organisms from the perspective of veterinary medicine. In addition, we explore sustainable methods of agriculture, forestry and fisheries and ways to coexist with the local environment via techniques based on both life and social sciences.
