How was my journey!

From childhood, everyone dreams about what he/she will become when he/she grows up, what his/her profession will be like. I was no exception. I also had some dreams or goals.

So, I am Sharmin Akter. I came from Bangladesh. Today I am going to write about myself. If you listen to the story of the aim in life of most people in Bangladesh, you will see that their aim were to become doctors or engineers. In that case, my aim in life was to be a doctor. But with the passage of time people's dreams keep changing. My dream also changed when I reached high school. At that time, I thought that I would work in any profession in the future, but I would not become a doctor. It is interesting, isn't it? Now everyone may think why my aim of become a doctor has changed? So is there any reason behind it? No, there is no reason. Actually, I liked the profession of doctor but I did not like myself in that profession. But surprisingly, I later read about physiotherapy.

After completing a bachelor's degree in physiotherapy, a renewed interest in biology developed while practicing in a clinic. From there my dream is formed that I will study to an international university. My new journey starts from here.

Then, like other universities, one day I entered the website of Iwate University and tried to get an opportunity. Then finally, I got the opportunity to study the subject I wanted to study. For this I am thankful to my academic supervisor and Iwate University. Then, after a long time wait due to the Covid-19 situation, I was able to come to Iwate University in Japan in April this year.

Now, I am a student of biological science studying as a research student in this university. So, this is very simple and short story about my journey.

ছোটবেলা থেকেই সবাই স্বপ্ন দেখে যে সে বড় হয়ে কি হবে, তার পেশা কেমন হবে। আমিও ব্যতিক্রম ছিলাম না। আমারও কিছু স্বপ্ন বা লক্ষ্য ছিল।

আমি শারমিন আক্তার। আমি বাংলাদেশ থেকে এসেছি। আজ আমি নিজের সম্পর্কে লিখতে যাচ্ছি। বাংলাদেশের অধিকাংশ মানুষের জীবনের লক্ষ্যের গল্প শুনলে দেখবেন তাদের লক্ষ্য ছিল ডাক্তার বা ইঞ্জিনিয়ার হওয়া। সেক্ষেত্রে আমার জীবনের লক্ষ্য ছিল ডাক্তার হওয়া। কিন্তু সময়ের সাথে সাথে মানুষের স্বপ্ন পরিবর্তন হতে থাকে। হাই স্কুলে পৌঁছানোর পর আমার স্বপ্নও বদলে গেল। তখন ভেবেছিলাম ভবিষ্যতে যে কোনো পেশায় কাজ করব, কিন্তু ডাক্তার হব না। বিষয়টা মজার, তাই কি? এখন সবাই ভাবতে পারেন কেন আমার ডাক্তার হওয়ার লক্ষ্য বদলে গেল? তাহলে এর পেছনের কারণ কী? না, কোন কারণ নেই। আসলে আমি ডাক্তারি পেশাকে খুব পছন্দ করতাম কিন্তু সেই পেশায় নিজেকে ভালো লাগেনি। কিন্তু আশ্চর্যজনক হলেও সত্যি যে, আমি পরবর্তীতে ফিজিওথেরাপি নিয়ে পড়েছি।

এরপর ফিজিওথেরাপিতে স্নাতক ডিগ্রি সম্পন্ন করার পর ক্লিনিকে অনুশীলন করার সময় জীববিজ্ঞানের প্রতি নতুন করে আগ্রহ তৈরি হয়। সেখান থেকেই স্বপ্ন তৈরি হয় আন্তর্জাতিক বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় থেকে পড়ব। এইখান থেকেই শুরু হয় আমার নতুন যাত্রা ।

তারপর, অন্যান্য বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের মতো, একদিন আমি ইওয়াতে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ওয়েবসাইটে প্রবেশ করি এবং চেষ্টা করি পড়াশুনা করার সুযোগ পাওয়ার জন্য। অবশেষে, আমি যে বিষয়ে পড়তে চাই তা পড়ার সুযোগ পেয়েছি। এর জন্য আমি আমার একাডেমিক সুপারভাইজার এবং ইওয়াতে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের কাছে কৃতজ্ঞ। তারপর, কোভিড-১৯ পরিস্থিতির কারণে দীর্ঘ সময় অপেক্ষার পর, আমি এই বছরের এপ্রিলে জাপানের ইওয়াতে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে আসতে পেরেছি।

এখন, আমি এই বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে গবেষণার ছাত্রী হিসাবে অধ্যয়নরত জীববিজ্ঞানের একজন ছাত্রী। সুতরাং, এটি আমার খুব সাধারণ এবং ছোট গল্প।
