Coordinator of Support for International Exchange

In order to achieve its goals for internationalization, Iwate University appoints outside individuals with specialized knowledge, international students at Iwate University, and Japanese students who are active overseas to be Iwate University Coordinators of Support for International Exchange.

Nine individuals have been designated as coordinators as of 2015.
The University plans to increase the number of such coordinators to realize its international strategies as well as to promote globalization.

Main Tasks of Coordinators and Countries Involved

Main Tasks

  • On-site coordination during training abroad programs, pre-departure negotiation for the training, and student support
  • Liaison and coordination with host institutions, etc.
  • Interpretation and translation at overseas PR occasions, such as study abroad fairs
  • Operational support for student exchange and international study abroad programs, etc.
  • Provision of information and orientation management for prospective international exchange students to Japan
  • Provision of advice and cooperation for post-earthquake reconstruction activities including international strategies and perspectives, etc.
