Iwate University Short-term Visiting Trainee

The procedures for accepting students from overseas universities and other institutions for short-term education, research guidance or training (hereinafter referred to as "Short-term Visiting Trainee") are as follows.

Eligible recipients

Students enrolled in an overseas university who wish to visit our university under the following conditions ① to ③.
① Those who are visiting our university as part of a study abroad or training program run by public organizations both in Japan and overseas.
② Those who visit our university as part of a study abroad or training program implemented by each department of the university.
③Those who visit our university when the head of the department deems it particularly necessary.

Period of appointment

3 days or more and 90 days or less

Application for admission

The person in charge of acceptance (supervisor, etc.) must submit the "Application for Acceptance of Short-term Visiting Trainee" (Attachment Form 1) to the host department at least two months before the desired date of acceptance. After selecting the applicants, the host department must submit a "Report on Selection of Short-term Visiting Trainee" (Attachment Form 2) to the International Office at least one month before the desired date of acceptance.

Notification of acceptance

The International Office will send a notification of acceptance to the applicant via email. Also, the invoice for "Visiting Overseas Trainee Registration Fee" as below will be sent as well.

Short-term Visiting Trainee registration fee

Registration fee: 5,000 yen
Consumption tax: 500 yen
Handling fee: 200 yen
Total 5,700 yen ⇒ Amount of Payment
*The above amount must be paid by credit card.

Issuance of Short-term Visiting Trainee Card

When you visit Iwate University, you will be given a 'Short-term Visiting Trainee Card' as proof of your acceptance. This card allows you to use Iwate University Library, campus Wi-Fi, etc.
*Please note that Short-term Visiting Trainees are not allowed to take regular courses.
