Lice? Rice! Today's GV workshop taught how to manipulate the ever-malleable mouth to produce /l/ and /r/ sounds found at the beginning of syllables. Participants practiced an array of tricks to elicit the sounds, and checked each other's pronunciation skills. And to our pleasant surprise, IBC TV's Gandainingu Program paid us a visit and filmed the event. We might be on TV in December!

えっ、シラミって言った？いえいえ、お米です！(シラミは英語でlice,お米はrice)」今週のグローバルビレッジ・イベントには、岩手大学の日本人学生、留学生、地域からの参加者、約20名が集まり、/l/と/r/から始まる英語のは発音方法を練習しました。ウィリアム先生に続いて全員で発音した後、参加者同士で発音を確認し合いました。IBC ガンダイニングの撮影も入りました。
