On Nov 25, the Global Village sponsored the first in a series of workshops on essays. We learned about the main features of academic English essay types, guessed the response type for a selection of essay prompts, and reconstructed an example of a persuasive essay. Though the event was conducted mainly in English, participants were able to communicate in a variety of languages to better understand the key points.

11月25日（金）のグローバルビレッジ・イベントは「第一回：英語で論文を書く！」でした。「読み手を説得するための論文」、「読み手に説明するための論文」等、目的に応じて論文が異なることや、パラグラフライティングなどをウィリアム先生の講義に続いてワークショップ形式で楽しく学びました。英語だけでなく、参加者同士のさまざまな言語を使って学びあった一時間でした。

Our next event will be a light and fun cultural activity about Japanese-inspired food enjoyed around the world: Fri, Dec 2, 12-1 pm, at the Global Village Lounge (Student Center-B).

次のイベントは、「これが和食？：世界のおどろき"和食"」と題して、世界各地で和食として楽しまれているちょっとびっくりな和食を知って楽しみます。12月2日（金）12時10分から1時まで。ランチ持参でOK。気軽にご参加ください。
