岩手大学では、アメリカ・ネブラスカ大学リンカーン校（University of Nebraska-Lincoln）教育学部の学生9名と教員3名を迎え、「ネブラスカ大学教育・文化プログラム in 岩手」として、6月8日から19日にかけて日本の教育・文化体験プログラムを実施しています。

本プログラムは、両大学間の国際交流の一環として行われるもので、参加学生は岩手大学での講義受講に加え、県内の保育園、小・中・高等学校などの教育機関を訪問し、日本の教育現場への理解を深めています。

また、生け花や茶道、さんさ踊りの体験、寺社仏閣の見学など、日本の伝統文化に触れる機会も設けられており、教育と文化の両面から日本を学ぶ充実したプログラムとなっています。

中国語圏への交換留学を希望する学生を対象とした、
中国語能力向上を目指すための中国語強化クラスを開講します。

岩手大学イーハトーブサマープログラム（IUIS）とは、日本語と日本文化を学ぶ2週間の夏季プログラムです。海外大学に在籍する学生が対象で、日本語入門と中上級の２つのコースで募集します。参加者は、キャンパス内の留学生向け学生寮（国際交流会館）で生活しながら、日本語授業のほか、日本文化体験やフィールドトリップを通じて、日本や岩手について理解を深めることができます。

We are pleased to announce that we are now taking applications for the Iwate University IHATOV Summer Program (IUIS) 2025.

The Iwate University IHATOV Summer Program (IUIS) is a 2-week program where students can learn Japanese language and culture. This program is open to students who are enrolled in in overseas universities, and offers two Japanese courses, an introductory course, and a lower intermediate course. Participants will be able to deepen their understanding of Japan and Iwate through not only Japanese classes but also Japanese cultural activities and field trips while staying in an international student housing on campus (International House).

【国際交流PRアソシエイトからの発信★】Ohanami - Cherry Blossom Viewing (お花見)

桜には様々な楽しみ方がありますが、親しい人とのお花見は格別な楽しさがあるように思います。留学生のリットさんが、お花見の思い出を教えてくれました。春の日に、満開の桜の木の下で過ごした暖かい雰囲気まで伝わってくる記事です。

There are various ways to enjoy cherry blossoms, but I think that cherry blossom viewing　(ohanami) with close friends is particularly fun. Ritt, an international student, shared his memories of ohanami. It is an article that conveys the cheerful atmosphere of spending the day under the cherry blossom trees in full bloom.

Ohanami - Cherry Blossom Viewing (お花見)

The peak of spring in Morioka has passed, leaving behind green leaves where delicate pink blossoms once swayed. As I look back, I can't help but feel grateful for the memories made during this beautiful season. How was your spring? Did you get the chance to enjoy it to the fullest?

As a student at Iwate University, I've been fortunate to witness the changing seasons in Morioka, each with its own charm, but spring always feels the most alive. Last month, I joined my friends for a cherry blossom viewing at the historic Morioka Castle Ruins Park, a beloved spot for ohanami. It was a wonderful experience to enjoy ohanami in such a traditional setting, and it was truly unforgettable.

We arrived in the late morning, arms full of homemade food, snacks, drinks, and picnic mats. The park was alive with the laughter of families and groups of friends. The cherry trees were in full bloom, their pale pink petals creating a dreamy canopy above us. Beneath them, people relaxed, took photos, played music, and shared food -- all while surrounded by the gentle scent of spring.

We found a cozy spot near one of the cherry blossom trees and set up our picnic. There's something about eating outdoors in good company that makes food taste even better. We had inarizushi, fried chicken, sausages, tempura, bread, takoyaki, and traditional Japanese sweets like daifuku. We talked, laughed, and took dozens of photos -- each trying to capture the magic of the moment.

Beyond the food and fun, ohanami is really about connection. It gave us a precious opportunity to slow down and check in with one another. In the relaxed atmosphere under the blossoms, it felt easy to open up and truly enjoy each other's company. One of the most heartwarming parts of the day was meeting new people. There's a unique sense of community that blossoms during ohanami -- perhaps it's the shared appreciation for nature's fleeting beauty that brings people closer together.

Being part of this tradition made me reflect on something special about Japanese culture -- the deep appreciation for nature and the emphasis on seasonal experiences. There is something beautifully poetic about gathering to celebrate a flower that only blooms for a short time. It teaches us to treasure the moment, to appreciate what we have now, before it fades.

My ohanami experience in Morioka was not just a day of enjoyment, but a memory I will carry with me for years to come. It reminded me of the importance of connection -- with friends, with nature, and with ourselves. It also gave me a deeper understanding of the quiet beauty and richness of everyday life in Japan.

【国際交流PRアソシエイトからの発信★】Korean Culture Experience Workshop at Iwate University (韓国文化体験 WORKSHOP)

留学生のRittさんが、岩手大学内で昨年12月に行われた韓国文化体験ワークショップについて報告してくれました。実際に触れ、体験することでしか得られない感動があったようです。

僕は普段から冷麺はよく食べていますが、そればかりでなく、こうした機会を通して韓国の文化にも触れてみたいと思います。

I usually eat Morioka reimen noodles, but I also want to experience Korean culture through these opportunities.

Korean Culture Experience Workshop at Iwate University (韓国文化体験 WORKSHOP)

Last December, the Korean Culture Experience Workshop was hosted at Iwate University by the Korean Cultural Studies Lab of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and the International Affairs Division. The event provided a unique opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to experience and learn about Korean culture in a hands-on, interactive setting.

The workshop was organized in collaboration with the National Museum of Ethnology in Osaka, which loaned its "Min-pack" learning kit for the event. This kit included a variety of materials showcasing aspects of Korean culture, such as traditional clothing, games, food, and study materials. The materials were carefully selected to allow participants to engage with Korean traditions in a meaningful way, enhancing the learning experience.

The workshop began with insights from Chie Kamino-Sensei, an Associate Professor at Iwate University's Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and Sohee Che-sensei, an Associate Professor at the National Museum of Ethnology. Participants also heard from Korean students currently studying at Iwate University, who provided a firsthand perspective on their culture and experiences.

One of the highlights of the workshop was the opportunity to try on traditional Korean clothing, including the Chima jeogori - the iconic hanbok, a symbol of Korea's rich cultural heritage. Participants also explored a variety of traditional games that have been enjoyed for generations.

Among the activities, Gonggi and Jegichagi were particularly engaging. Gonggi is a game that resembles the Japanese game of Ohajiki, where players use small round stones. It is a seasonal game with various regional variations, making it a fascinating part of Korean culture.

Jegichagi, another traditional game, involves using a weighted object, known as a Jegi, wrapped in paper. Using only their feet, participants had to launch the Jegi high into the air, trying to keep it from touching the ground - a fun and challenging activity that allowed participants to engage with a piece of Korean play culture.

The workshop also introduced participants to traditional Korean instruments like the Danso, a vertical flute known for its pure and elegant tone. This instrument is often used both as an accompaniment to songs and as a solo instrument, offering a deep connection to Korea's musical traditions.

In addition to games and music, participants had the chance to learn about other aspects of Korean culture. One such example was the school lunch set, providing insight into the traditional Korean school meal culture. Participants also explored Taekwondo, the national sport of Korea, which emphasizes both footwork and handwork in martial arts competitions.

To wrap up the event, participants were introduced to the modern world of K-pop with a CD album that often comes with collectible items like photo cards and posters, offering a glimpse into the global influence of Korean pop culture.

The workshop proved to be an excellent opportunity for cultural exchange, allowing participants to interact with Korean students and faculty members while learning about a diverse range of cultural practices. Whether it was experiencing traditional Korean games or learning about Taekwondo, the workshop offered something for everyone.

This event was just one example of Iwate University's ongoing commitment to fostering international dialogue and cultural understanding. There are more opportunities for international cultural exchange events coming up in the future. เวิร์กชอปสัมผัสวัฒนธรรมเกาหลี

เมื่อเดือนธันวาคมที่ผ่านมา เวิร์กชอปประสบการณ์วัฒนธรรมเกาหลีได้ถูกจัดขึ้นที่มหาวิทยาลัยอิวาเตะ　โดยห้องปฏิบัติการวัฒนธรรมเกาหลีศึกษา คณะมนุษยศาสตร์และสังคมศาสตร์ และฝ่ายวิรัชกิจ　กิจกรรมนี้ถือเป็นโอกาสพิเศษที่นักศึกษา คณาจารย์ และเจ้าหน้าที่จะได้สัมผัสและเรียนรู้เกี่ยวกับวัฒนธรรมเกาหลีในบรรยากาศแบบมีส่วนร่วมและปฏิบัติจริง

เวิร์กชอปนี้จัดขึ้นโดยความร่วมมือกับพิพิธภัณฑ์ชาติพันธุ์วิทยาแห่งชาติในโอซาก้า ซึ่งได้ให้ยืมชุดการเรียนรู้ "Min-pack" เพื่อใช้ในงาน ชุดนี้ประกอบด้วยสื่อการเรียนรู้ต่างๆ มากมายที่แสดงให้เห็นถึงวัฒนธรรมเกาหลี เช่น เสื้อผ้าแบบดั้งเดิม เกม อาหาร และวัสดุการเรียนรู้ โดยวัสดุต่างๆ ได้รับการคัดเลือกมาอย่างพิถีพิถันเพื่อให้ผู้เข้าร่วมได้มีส่วนร่วมกับประเพณีของเกาหลีในลักษณะที่มีความหมายและช่วยยกระดับประสบการณ์การเรียนรู้

ไฮไลท์อย่างหนึ่งของเวิร์กชอปนี้คือโอกาสที่จะได้ลองสวมเสื้อผ้าแบบดั้งเดิมของเกาหลี รวมถึงชุดชิมาจอโกรี ซึ่งเป็นชุดฮันบกอันเป็นเอกลักษณ์ที่เป็นสัญลักษณ์ของมรดกทางวัฒนธรรมอันล้ำค่าของเกาหลี นอกจากนี้ ผู้เข้าร่วมยังได้ลองเล่นเกมดั้งเดิมหลากหลายประเภทที่ได้รับความนิยมมาหลายชั่วอายุคน

ในบรรดากิจกรรมต่างๆ กงกีและ เจกิชากี เป็นกิจกรรมที่น่าดึงดูดใจเป็นพิเศษ กงกี เป็นเกมที่คล้ายกับเกมโอฮาจิกิของญี่ปุ่น ซึ่งผู้เล่นจะใช้หินกลมเล็กๆ เป็นเกมตามฤดูกาลที่มีรูปแบบต่างกันในแต่ละภูมิภาค ทำให้เป็นส่วนที่น่าสนใจของวัฒนธรรมเกาหลี เจกิชากี เป็นเกมดั้งเดิมอีกประเภทหนึ่ง ซึ่งเกี่ยวข้องกับการใช้สิ่งของที่มีน้ำหนักที่เรียกว่ าเจกิ ห่อด้วยกระดาษ ผู้เข้าร่วมต้องโยนเจกิขึ้นไปในอากาศโดยใช้เพียงเท้า โดยพยายามไม่ให้วัตถุนั้นแตะพื้น ซึ่งเป็นกิจกรรมที่สนุกสนานและท้าทายที่ทำให้ผู้เข้าร่วมได้มีส่วนร่วมกับวัฒนธรรมการเล่นของเกาหลี

นอกจากนี้ เวิร์กชอป ยังได้แนะนำเครื่องดนตรีเกาหลีแบบดั้งเดิมให้กับผู้เข้าร่วม เช่น ดันโซ ซึ่งเป็นขลุ่ยแนวตั้งที่ขึ้นชื่อในเรื่องเสียงที่บริสุทธิ์และสง่างาม เครื่องดนตรีชนิดนี้มักใช้เป็นเครื่องดนตรีประกอบเพลงหรือเครื่องดนตรีเดี่ยว ซึ่งช่วยเชื่อมโยงอย่างลึกซึ้งกับประเพณีดนตรีของเกาหลี

นอกเหนือจากเกมและดนตรีแล้ว ผู้เข้าร่วมยังมีโอกาสเรียนรู้เกี่ยวกับวัฒนธรรมเกาหลีในแง่มุมอื่นๆ ตัวอย่างเช่น ชุดอาหารกลางวันที่โรงเรียน ซึ่งให้ข้อมูลเชิงลึกเกี่ยวกับวัฒนธรรมอาหารกลางวันที่โรงเรียนแบบดั้งเดิมของเกาหลี ผู้เข้าร่วมยังได้สำรวจเทควันโด ซึ่งเป็นกีฬาประจำชาติของเกาหลี ซึ่งเน้นทั้งการเคลื่อนไหวเท้าและการเคลื่อนไหวมือในการแข่งขันศิลปะการต่อสู้
