Iwate's neighbor, Lake Tazawa in Akita Prefecture, is about an hour's drive from Morioka City, where Iwate University is located. International student Reshmi-san also took a short weekend trip to Akita Prefecture, and it was a trip of healing and discovery. If I talk about my hobby, traveling will be top of the list. Exploring new cities and places can enrich one's experience and knowledge. Similarly, it helps us enjoy the natural scenery and refresh our minds. So, I like to explore new places whenever I get any opportunity and time. Recently, I traveled to lake Tazawa which is in Semboku city in Akita prefecture. Also, I explored an onsen named Tamagawa which is also in Semboku city.
Lake Tazawa (田沢湖,Tazawa-ko) has been selected as one of the 100 most scenic spots in Japan. With a depth of 423.4 meters, it is listed as the deepest lake in Japan. This place is 57 km away from Morioka City and it takes around 1 hour by car. The lake has crystal-clear bluish water that is surrounded by lush green mountain forests. The view of the lake is so eye-soothing that it will automatically refresh your mind. I wondered to see a bunch of fish playing under the water. The cool breeze with the greenery hill view took me to another world.
The water is so clear that I couldn't resist getting into the water. I saw many people enjoying swimming, feeding fish, riding on the paddle boat, kayaking, and canoeing around the lake. One of the famous spots of lake Tazawa is the golden statue of a girl named Tatsuko who wished to keep her beauty forever, turned into a dragon, and threw herself into the lake. The red torii gate is a popular photo spot which is on the bank of the lake. There are also sightseeing boats available to move around the blue water of the lake. The ride was around 40 min. and the entry fee was 1200 yen. I thoroughly enjoyed the full ride by seeing the scenery and waves of the water. There was a souvenir shop near the car parking where you can find ice cream, snacks, and of course many souvenirs.
The next spot was Tamagawa onsen which took around 1 hour of drive by car from lake Tazawa. This is famous for having Japan's most acidic hot spring water and the pH level of water is nearly 1. The area is in the middle of the radioactive stone and there is a walking trail to move around. It is believed that this place has a huge range of health benefits. The hot spring is unique because a single-source splashes out almost 9000 liters of 98 degrees of hot water every minute. This makes the onsen Japan's single most productive hot spring source.
The walking trail was wonderful for me to see the streams of hot water. A lot of volcanic activities can be seen while walking along the walking trail. There was a noise of hissing sulfurous vents. The noise and steam in the air together made the environment scary to me. There were lots of people laying on the floor on small mats. I was surprised to know that those people lay on the radioactive rocks for hours. Because the area contains a significant amount of radioactive radium which has curative properties. I wanted to know the level of hotness of the water. So, I touched the water with my feet and I felt the shock of hotness. It was a new experience for me and I came to know a lot of information about onsen. Before coming back, I stood beside the vent of the water for some time and I felt so healed.
Altogether at the end of the day, I achieved a new experience from this one-day tour. Though Akita prefecture is famous for its winter spots, I can say that it is also enjoyable on summer days. The greenery and hilly view of the blue water of the lake can refresh anyone's mind. And the steam of the onsen has healing power with a different scenic environment. These places are worth visiting for me. Really, traveling to a new place can recharge one's body and mind with positive energy.

লেক তাজাওয়া (田沢湖, Tazawa-ko) জাপানের ১০০টি সবচেয়ে মনোরম স্থানের মধ্যে একটি হিসেবে নির্বাচিত হয়েছে। ৪২৩.৪ মিটার গভীরতার সাথে, এটি জাপানের গভীরতম হ্রদ হিসাবে তালিকাভুক্ত। এই জায়গাটি মোরিওকা শহর থেকে ৫৭ কিমি দূরে এবং গাড়িতে প্রায় ১ ঘন্টা সময় লাগে। হ্রদের স্ফটিক-স্বচ্ছ নীল জল রয়েছে যা সবুজ পাহাড়ী বন দ্বারা বেষ্টিত। লেকের দৃশ্যটি এতটাই চোখ ধাঁধানো যে এটি্ আপনাআপনি মনকে সতেজ করবে। পানির নিচে মাছের দলের খেলা দেখে অবাক হয়ে গিয়েছিলাম। সবুজ পাহাড়ি দৃশ্যের সাথে শীতল বাতাস আমাকে অন্য জগতে নিয়ে গিয়েছিল।
পানি এতই পরিষ্কার যে আমি পানিতে নামা থেকে নিজেকে আটকাতে করতে পারিনি। অনেক লোককে দেখেছি সাঁতার কাটা, মাছকে খাওয়ানো, প্যাডেল বোটে চড়ে, কায়াকিং এবং লেকের চারপাশে ক্যানোয়িং উপভোগ করতে। তাজাওয়া হ্রদের একটি বিখ্যাত স্পট হল তাতসুকো নামের একটি মেয়ের সোনার মূর্তি যে তার সৌন্দর্য চিরকাল ধরে রাখতে চেয়েছিল, ড্রাগনে পরিণত হয়েছিল এবং নিজেকে হ্রদে ফেলেছিল। লাল তরি গেট একটি জনপ্রিয় ফটো স্পট যা লেকের পাড়ে অবস্থিত। লেকের নীল জলে ঘুরে বেড়ানোর জন্য রয়েছে নৌকাও। রাইডটি ছিল প্রায় ৪০ মিনিট এবং প্রবেশ মূল্য ছিল ১২০০ ইয়েন। আমি পানির দৃশ্য এবং ঢেউ দেখে সম্পূর্ণ রাইডটি উপভোগ করেছি। গাড়ি পার্কিংয়ের কাছে একটি স্যুভেনিরের দোকান ছিল যেখানে আপনি আইসক্রিম, স্ন্যাকস এবং অবশ্যই অনেক স্যুভেনির খুঁজে পেতে পারেন।
পরবর্তী স্পট ছিল তামাগাওয়া অনসেন যেটি তাজাওয়া হ্রদ থেকে গাড়িতে করে প্রায় ১ ঘন্টা সময় নেয়। এটি জাপানের সবচেয়ে অম্লীয় গরম পানির জন্য বিখ্যাত এবং পানির pH স্তর প্রায় ১৷ এলাকাটি তেজস্ক্রিয় পাথরের মাঝখানে এবং সেখানে ঘোরাঘুরি করার জন্য একটি হাঁটা পথ রয়েছে৷ এটা বিশ্বাস করা হয় যে এই স্থানের স্বাস্থ্য সুবিধার বিশাল পরিসর রয়েছে। গরম পানির অন্যমত কারণ একটি উৎস থেকে প্রতি মিনিটে প্রায় ৯০০ লিটার ৯৮ ডিগ্রি গরম পানি বের হয়। এটি ওনসেনকে জাপানের একক সবচেয়ে উৎপাদনশীল গরম পানির উৎস করে তোলে।
আমার জন্য গরম পানির স্রোত দেখতে হাঁটার ট্রেইলটি চমৎকার ছিল। হাঁটার পথ ধরে হাঁটার সময় প্রচুর আগ্নেয়গিরির দেখা যায়। সালফেট ভেন্টের হিস হিস শব্দ হচ্ছিল। বাতাসে কোলাহল এবং বাষ্প একসাথে পরিবেশকে আমার কাছে ভীতিকর করে তুলেছিল। ছোট মাদুরের উপর মেঝেতে অনেক লোক শুয়ে ছিল। আমি জেনে অবাক হয়েছিলাম যে সেই লোকেরা ঘন্টার পর ঘন্টা তেজস্ক্রিয় পাথরের উপর শুয়ে থাকে। কারণ এলাকায় উল্লেখযোগ্য পরিমাণে তেজস্ক্রিয় রেডিয়াম রয়েছে যার নিরাময়কারী বৈশিষ্ট্য রয়েছে। পানির গরমের মাত্রা জানতে চাইলাম। তাই, আমি আমার পা দিয়ে পানি ছুঁয়েছিলাম এবং আমি গরমের ধাক্কা অনুভব করলাম। এটি আমার জন্য একটি নতুন অভিজ্ঞতা ছিল এবং আমি অনসেন সম্পর্কে অনেক তথ্য জানতে পেরেছি। ফিরে আসার আগে, আমি কিছুক্ষণ পানির ভেন্টের পাশে দাঁড়িয়েছিলাম এবং আমি খুব ভালো অনুভব করেছি।
দিনের শেষে, আমি এই একদিনের সফর থেকে একটি নতুন অভিজ্ঞতা অর্জন করেছি। যদিও আকিতা প্রিফেকচার তার শীতকালীন স্থানগুলির জন্য বিখ্যাত, আমি বলতে পারি যে এটি গ্রীষ্মের দিনেও উপভোগ্য। লেকের নীল জলের সবুজ আর পাহাড়ি দৃশ্য যে কারো মনকে সতেজ করে দিতে পারে। এবং ওনসেনের বাষ্পে একটি ভিন্ন প্রাকৃতিক পরিবেশের সাথে নিরাময় ক্ষমতা রয়েছে। এই জায়গাগুলো আমার জন্য দেখার মতো। সত্যিই, একটি নতুন জায়গায় ভ্রমণ একজনের শরীর এবং মনকে ইতিবাচক শক্তি দিতে পারে।
